Officers were summoned to the City’s 4th Avenue parking garage, at 7:30 last night, after a citizen reported several suspects checking door handles on several parked vehicles. An officer encountered 7-8 subjects, fitting the description given, while checking the City’s nearby 2nd Avenue parking garage. Despite the officer’s commands for them to stop, the suspects fled on foot. Additional officers responded to the area and took four suspects into custody.

Lavarious McClain and Excel Modena, both of Franklin, were arrested and charged with Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Stop, Halt, Frisk, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. They are being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $4,000 bond. Two juvenile suspects were also arrested, and charged with Vehicle Burglary.
An undetermined number of vehicles in downtown Franklin are believed to have been entered by this group of suspects. A shattered window was found on one of the victim’s vehicles. The others, however, were all entered after suspects found the car doors unlocked.
Several of the items stolen from victims were recovered by officers. McLain and Modena are due in court 02/18/2016 at 1:00 pm. Additional arrests are expected in this case.
