After Fire, Franklin Mapco Getting Redesign

A few weeks ago, on March 20, MAPCO at Highway 96 and Royal Oaks erupted into flames.

Since the fire was put out, the building has been coned off, fenced in and boarded up.

But, as with many things, sometimes from chaos comes opportunity. MAPCO’s corporate headquarters has decided to use the fire as a chance to refresh, refurbish and redesign the gas station, which is at 1301 Murfreesboro Road in Franklin.

There is no timeline, yet, for the store and pumps, according to Ruth Picha, Marketing Manager for MAPCO Express. But they were working as fast as they can to get the pumps open, at least, while they work on the store.

“We are in discussion now and working with the city of Franklin on getting permits, and trying to get the pumps open at least,” Picha said. “We want to open as quickly as possible but now we are also looking at things we could do to improve it and reimage it.”

When it does reopen fully, MAPCOwill be better than ever. The company is going to totally update the design of the store.
