Franklin Band Finishes Season on High Note

The Franklin High Band ended their incredible 2014 marching band season in Indianapolis this past weekend at the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championship, securing a spot in the Semi-Finals competition for the third year in a row. The competition was especially intense this year, with 94 bands representing 22 states.

Franklin started the season September 20 at the BOA Regional Championship in Louisville, Kentucky. Franklin took second place honors. Franklin competed next on September 27 with bands from across Middle Tennessee to win their second Grand Champion title at the 4th Annual Lower Antioch Experience at Antioch High School.  On October 24, Franklin took first place in the AAA Division and placed fifth overall in a field of 64 marching bands at the Indianapolis BOA Super-Regional competition.

The hard work and dedication of these students continues, as many prepare for Mid-State Band auditions next month, while Directors Aydelott, Michael Holland and Jacob Campos are already hard at work on next year’s show.
