Former TN Titan Derrick Mason Works With Vince Gill on STARS Benefit

Chair-ish The Night With Vince Gill & Friends is celebrating its 5th year and returns to the beautiful County Music Hall of Fame & Museum on Friday, November 22, for a night of art and music with Gill’s surprise lineup of guests. In the past, the “surprise” has been filled with talent, like Sheryl Crowe, Alison Krauss, Dierks Bentley, Keb’ Mo’, and Amy Grant.

The benefit helps Students Taking A Right Stand (STARS), who assist mid-state youth, families and schools with tough social and emotional barriers to learning. The prestigious ADAM Award will be presented at the event, as well. Established in 1999, Kids On The Block founder Alva Duke created ADAM in memory of her son, Adam, who was born with Down Syndrome.

Patron chairs for the star-studded Gill benefit are former Tennessee Titans and Franklin businessman Derrick Mason, along with Nashville philanthropist Kelly Crockett, who say the 5th year for this event will be the best yet.

“Kelly and I are thrilled to be joining Vince Gill in helping an organization make a difference daily in the lives of so many Middle Tennessee families, schools and communities. November 22 will be a remarkable night of music with Vince set to surprise us again with an incredible lineup of talented friends,” said Mason.

Benefit chairwoman Christy Smith said the conservatory of the Country Music Hall of Fame is the backdrop of the huge silent auction and unique art event where notable artist and gallery owner,Ron York, is creating ten star-themed paintings which Gill will sign, as well as, other gorgeous pieces from area artists.

“Prior to the concert will be a fun social hour and a silent auction including impressive array of items from Predators and Titans tickets and jerseys to autographed stools used by  Gill and guests during the concert and a one hour of guest hosting on 102.5 The Game with George Plaster and Willy Daunic,” stated Smith.
