Fork of the South Opens This Weekend in The Factory

Fork of the South

Fork of the South, a southern-inspired general store that partners with makers and artisans, will open on Saturday, Aug 31, in The Factory at Franklin.

The store is owned by Stefanie and Steve Gorman. The name “Fork of the South” is inspired by Leiper’s Fork, Steve said.

“The name was inspired by our community of Leiper’s Fork. We have two AirBnb’s in Leiper’s Fork. We wanted to mesh together Stefanie’s love of the South with our wonderful Leiper’s Fork community.”

Items you can expect to find in the store will be local, seasonal, and include over 35 makers.

“We are a general store that works hard to support makers. We are currently partnering with over 35 different makers. We have several different vignettes set up in the store that you can find just what you’re looking for from local Franklin & seasonal, gift & jewelry, beauty, candles & matches, kitchen & bar, men’s and women’s fashion and accessories, bedding & relaxing, kids & babies, to outdoor & garden.”

Grand opening festivities begin at 9a on Saturday, Aug 31. During the grand opening, you can meet Stefanie and Steve Gorman. In addition there will be a giveaway for a gift basket featuring some of the makers in the store, and the first 40y guests will receive an 831 glass. Also, they will have fruit tea, infused water and beer & wine. Meesh’s Bakery will be on hand for a pop-up selling her decorated cookies.
