The Nashville Sounds announced Tuesday morning that First Tennessee Bank will be the sponsor for the club’s new ballpark slated to open in time for the 2015 season next April.

A new deal was made last winter that the Sounds and the state of Tennessee, along with a site developer, agreed to a construction site, which will be located in north Nashville for a proposed cost of $37 million.

First Tennessee Park will be built near Cumberland River in the same location that the Nashville Thermal Transfer Planet was located.

The Sounds’ current residence, Herschel Greener Stadium has been home for the club since 1978. The 10,300-seat park has become a fan favorite, although some have come to love the aging ballpark, the club has been calling for an upgrade to a new park for sometime.

The Sounds are a Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers of the Pacific Coast League of the MiLB. For more information of securing season tickets for next season, click HERE.
