Father Ryan Routs Clarksville Northeast

Father Ryan (2-0) rolled its way to its second straight win on the legs and arm of quarterback Zach Pfeifer on Friday night.

Hosting Northeast out of Clarksville, the Fighting Irish scored 34 first half points, all either passes or runs by Pfeiffer.

The game clearly was out of reach for Northeast at the half, with Father Ryan ending the night up 41-6.

Father Ryan Can Do It All

Last week, against Hillwood, Father Ryan won with a punishing run game. Bryce Vickers and company put up 231 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Friday against Northeast, it was all Pfeifer and his corps of talented receivers.

In the first, Father Ryan started things with a Pfeifer pass to B.J. Bishop for a 17-yard score. Northeast responding with its first, and as it turned out only, score of the game. Pfeifer marched the team back down the field, capping a drive with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Cade Pruett.

In the second quarter, dominating in the run game also, Father Ryan again and again turned drives into points. Pfeifer found Ethan Jackson and Bishop, again, for scores. The versatile quarterback also ran one in late in the second.

Pfeifer finished with 159 yards and 4 touchdowns on 12 of  17 passing and 95 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 rushes. Pfeifer accounted for 254 of Father Ryan’s 304 yards of offense.

Ethan Jackson led Father Ryan with 3 catches for 77 yards; Biship added 33 and his two scores, Pruett had 34.

Father Ryan plays Mccallie (0-1) next week in its third straight home game and its first Dvision II-AA game of the year.
