“We’re excited to have Marisol join our staff here at Father Ryan High School,” said McIntyre. “She brings a wealth of experience from her work in admissions offices and classrooms across the country, at both the college and high school levels. That experience will only strengthen our Admissions program. I am confident that Marisol and Erin Riggs, our Assistant Director of Admissions, will be successful in connecting with families throughout the area.”

Preston comes to Middle Tennessee from Jacksonville, FL, where she spent the past four years working in the Admissions Office at Jacksonville University. She became the Chief Admissions Officer at the university in 2013, after serving as the Senior Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions in 2012 and the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions in 2011. Prior to that, Preston worked as a Foreign Language Teacher at the Episcopal High School of Jacksonville from 2009 to 2011. She travelled to Jacksonville after spending a year instructing Spanish in Brunswick, GA, for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s Immigration Customs Enforcement Department of Removal Operations Academy.

McIntyre noted the value of Preston’s bilingual abilities. “Just as Nashville continues to grow into a larger and more diverse city, being able to communicate with a diverse group of prospective families is critical. Marisol’s multilingual skills add a valuable voice and presence in our Admissions office.“

Preston work as a Spanish Teacher at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville from 2002 to 2004. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of San Diego in 2000.

“I can’t wait to move to Middle Tennessee and begin my job at Father Ryan,” said Preston. “I have heard such great things about the school and the city, how it is growing and how interesting and diverse the city is. I’m excited to become part of both communities.”

Preston and her husband, Larry, have one daughter, who will be attending Catholic school here.
