Saturday, October 5th is the Family Day at the Park at Harlinsdale (239 Franklin Rd). Festivities begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. Entertainment, children’s events and more are waiting for the whole family.
DJ music will fill the air, so sit back and enjoy or get up and shake the dust off if you feel so inclined. Hay rides, train rides, fishing and casting in the pond and a variety of inflatables will be on hand to keep the young ones occupied. A petting zoo will be available and there will be a lasso and horsemanship demonstration. Free face painting will also be offered.
That same day, you can also partake in the Franklin Cross Country Fun Run and 5K– a benefit for United Way. Registration for the race begins at 7:30am and the race starts promptly at 8:30am. Hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, French fries, funnel cakes and drinks will be available.
Both events are sponsored by the City of Franklin Parks Department. If there is inclement weather, the Family Day festivities will be postponed until Oct 12th. The Fun Run and 5 K is a rain or shine event! For more information, please call the event hotline at 615.550.6947.
