Construction crews are staying busy this summer as work continues on the new Fairview High School performing arts center.

Work began on the auditorium May 18. Once complete, the building will be similar to the auditoriums at Brentwood and Centennial high schools. The auditorium itself will consist of two levels, the main floor and a mezzanine which will seat 125 of the approximate 500 total seats. There will also be two new classrooms, a lobby with a concession area, restrooms and a space for technology.

The back of the auditorium is the control room for sound and theatrical lighting systems which will be provided in the construction. Behind the stage will be student restrooms, make-up area and dressing rooms for boys and girls.

The performing arts center is projected to be completed in February, 2017.
