Nashville's First Slow Ride for Seniors
John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge
Sat, May 27 10:00 am

This ride is part of Bike Month in May and is a tribute to those bicyclists that have defied the odds to continue pedaling past the age of senility. Now designated as a Walk Bike Nashville Featured Ride! Minimum age for this ride is 50 years of age and maximum is 105. You must show a Medicare card or other identification (AARP card will suffice). If you are younger than 50 and are accompanied by a senior then you will be allowed to ride. If you have bought a beer in the recent past for someone over 50 that is an acceptable qualification.  It should not be necessary to say this will be one damn slow ride. The current plan (always subject to change if we forget something) is to leave from the East side of the Seigenthaler Shelby Street Bridge, ride out to Metro Center and circle back for lunch at Nashville Farmers Market. We will then take a nap on the grass in Bicentennial Mall. Depends will be distributed to those in need along with prune juice. The group may decide to take a side tour to Antique Archaeology in Marathon Village. We will return to the Eastside (the superior part of Nashville) and will decide if medical care is needed for any participants. Helmets required. Commemorative t-shirts are planned for a nominal fee.
