Live at The Factory - Birds of Chicago, The Jerry Douglas Band, Billy Strings & Jill Andrews. Birds of Chicago, "This year's biggest roots surprise" - L.A. Times, is a collective built around husband and wife duo JT Nero (Chicago, IL) and Allison Russell (Montreal, QC). Since forming in 2012, they’ve toured internationally 10+ months of the year. Their brand of rock and roll poetry can be a little hard to categorize, for people that insist on categorizing... their voices are undoubtedly the centerpiece - Nero's fractured country soul croon is wrapped in Russell's silver and gold tones for a harmony blend that is like nothing else in music today. Fired by the band it’s a full tilt revival - streamlined poems, deep grooves, sharp hooks and joyful singing straight from the gut. Billy Strings - Whether sharing stages with acoustic music royalty, crisscrossing the nation playing as a solo artist or performing high-energy, jaw-dropping sets at festivals, the reaction to Billy Strings tends to come in two varieties: “Who is this guy?” and “That kid can play!” Jill Andrews - On her newest solo record, The War Inside, Jill Andrews shines a light on her own struggles and successes, tying the songs together with a new sound that mixes her folk background with a wider set of influences. “When I set out to make this album," she explains, "I wanted it to feel like me -- but me moving, me progressing. I wanted to stretch my legs a bit. My producer, Will Sayles, and I spent a lot of time in the studio experimenting with different sounds and different feels to really bring the songs to life."
