Downtown Franklin Is Brewing Up Something In March

Each year for the last decade, the Downtown Franklin Association (DFA) has provided beer lovers a taste of some of the best local, national and international brews during its annual Main Street Brew Fest. On Saturday, March 15, the non-profit organization that helped spearhead the revitalization of Franklin’s historic downtown core will once again offer 60 + craft beers at over 30 tasting sites from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., along with Celtic performers and plenty of Irish cheer!

Presented by R.S. Lipman Company and Lipman Brothers, the popular event plans to showcase the latest product and shine a spotlight on Williamson County’s microbrewery market.

Tickets are $40 per person. Register HERE.

The Brew Fest is an opportunity for beer lovers to taste some of the latest local, national and international additions to an exploding micro-brewery market while exploring Downtown Franklin’s historic retail district. The event has sold out in advance the past few years.

Franklin’s Main Street Brew Fest is produced by the Downtown Franklin Association, a nationally certified Main Street Program of the National Trust and a division of the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County. Proceeds from the event go to the continued revitalization and promotion of Historic Downtown Franklin.

This is a rain-or-shine event! No refunds due to weather. However, according to Nancy Williams, DFA Director:  “We had an ice storm one year and everyone had a blast. A couple of years ago it was thunderstorms, and every time it thundered everyone cheered and raised their glasses.”

Transportation
Attendees are encouraged to arrange safe rides to and from the Brew Fest. The Franklin Transit Authority provides rides for $6 round trip to and from the event to addresses inside the city limits of the City of Franklin with advance reservations. To make your reservation, email [email protected] and make sure you receive a confirmation. You may also call Franklin Transit Supervisor Sue Connor at 615-628-0263 to reserve your ride. This service also typically sells out in advance.

It’s fun to get a group from your Franklin neighborhood together to ride the trolley to Main Street for this event!

Designated drivers may attend the event for free–just no beer tasting for them!

Last year’s beers and breweries were varied and fun. Blue Pants Brewery from Alabama was a huge hit with the crowd with their craft brews. Local breweries Cool Springs Brewery, Yazoo, Turtle Anarchy all have been at past festivals. This year they will return and Granite City will be joining the fray. Other local brews will be added as the event gets closer, and many national and international brews will be there.

Watch Williamson Source for updates, as we are proud to be a part of this event this year!
