The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Tennessee Chapter will be celebrating the mid-point of their Man & Woman of the Year® fundraising campaign at a unique songwriter’s event, United By Hope, Fighting With Song, with live performances by Creed’s Scott Stapp, Matchbox 20’s Kyle Cook, Shay Mooney of Dan & Shay, and Austin Jenkes of NBC’s “The Voice.” The event will take place on April 3 at The Pleasant Hill Mansion, Governors Club in Brentwood. LLS’s Tennessee Chapter officially kicked off Man & Woman of the Year on February 23, 2018, joining 80 communities and dedicated local leaders across the country for an exciting ten-week philanthropic competition to raise the most funds for blood cancer research. The man and woman who raise the most funds during their local campaign are awarded the prestigious title of “Man or Woman of the Year.” Nashville’s 2017 Man of the Year is Aaron Joyce of My Nashville Agent and 2017’s Woman of the Year is Diana Warner of Diana Warner Studio. The top local fundraisers in the country go on to win the national titles.
The mid-point event is the halfway mark of The Man & Woman of the Year campaign. Candidates come together to acknowledge and celebrate the progress already made and re-energize to focus on goals ahead.

LLS is doing more than any health non-profit organization to advance cures and access for blood cancer patients and is having an impact beyond the blood cancers. Every nine minutes someone in the U.S. dies of a blood cancer. Despite progress, more than a third of blood cancer patients still do not survive five years after their diagnosis.
