High school journalism students Katherine Adams, Elaina Joy Sanders, Lily Thomas, and Camille Klausner recently competed in the Tennessee High School Press Association’s write-off contest with hundreds of Tennessee journalism students. The competition was held at Lipscomb University at the THSPA’s annual student-journalism conference. Contestants watched a 15-minute interview, took notes, and then composed their articles in 30 minutes.

A panel of judges announced the following CPA students placing first and second in the feature writing and sports writing categories:

  • Elaina Joy Sanders, first place, Feature Writing
  • Lily Thomas, second place, Feature Writing
  • Katherine Adams, first place, Sports Writing
  • Camille Klausner, second place, Sports Writing

All four winners serve on the Academy’s yearbook staff under the instruction of Heather Nagel. Congratulations to these students on their outstanding achievements at THSPA, and in the classroom as they compose the nationally acclaimed CPA yearbook.
