Connors Steak & Seafood at the CoolSprings Galleria made a donation to the Williamson County Schools COW program.
COW stands for Computers On Wheels. A fully equipped COW includes 30 laptops and charging cables on a mobile cart which can easily be moved from one classroom to another. The goal is to provide one or more for each WCS elementary school, middle school and new Nolensville schools.
This will ensure increased access to technology for classroom learning and enable students to participate in the required state online testing pilot program by the spring of 2016.
One fully “fed” COW provides, at its optimum use, over 200 students per day and over 1,000 students per week with the learning tools; provides hundreds of WCS faculty with essential tools for teaching; and provides our students in third through eighth grade with critical practice time to prepare for required state testing.
To break down the costs; each Chromebook is $300; $1700 for the cart on wheels; $10,000 for a cart with 30 laptops.
As part of their Grand Opening, Connors offered half off meals to patrons during their pre-opening. Connors chose to give the money they collected to several local groups: Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Williamson Medical,Williamson County Schools and Graceworks.
Connors Steak & Seafood, which opened on Feb 4 at the CoolSprings Galleria, combines a premium menu and bar with an inviting atmosphere. Connors will also be open for lunch from 11 am, Monday- Thursday till 10 pm, Friday and Saturday till 11 pm, and Sunday till 10 pm.
