City Farmhouse Pop-up Fair Returns First Weekend in December

Vintage and antique lovers can ring in the first notes of the festive season at this year’s City Farmhouse Holiday Pop-up Fair, the highly curated show taking place at the Factory at Franklin Dec. 3 and 4.

Known for drawing local celebrities, country music stars and private collectors, the City Farmhouse Holiday Pop-up Fair will host more than 30 hand-selected exhibitors from 11 states and a wide range of antique wares, along with handmade selections – the perfect opportunity to uncover those one-of-a-kind gifts for loved ones, organizer Kim Leggett said.

“A special kind of magic happens at our Holiday shows, you can feel it in the air. The exhibitors’ booths are in keeping with the spirit of the season, and all of our shoppers are merry,” Leggett said. “It’s a favored pop-up fair event.”

Adhering to its reputation of a festival-like atmosphere, the event bill will also feature several high-profile guest appearances – including Whitney Miller, the Season 1 winner of Fox reality TV show MasterChef and author of “New Southern Table.” After a book signing that will begin Friday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m., Miller will host an interactive cooking demonstration at 1 p.m. meant to inspire the holiday table.

Attendees will also have the chance to meet Flea Market Style Magazine Editors Ki Nassauer and Celeste Shaw on Friday and celebrate the relaunch of one of City Farmhouse’s favorite magazines. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., shoppers can meet the faces behind the publication.

Local favorite Steve McLellan will round out the weekend, with a dynamic look at styling a stunning tablescape centerpiece – just in the nick of time for family get-togethers and seasonal entertaining.

The City Farmhouse Pop-ups often use live entertainment and local food trucks to complement the booths filled with selections spanning all eras and styles. The annual events reflect the Leggetts’ trademark rustic modern aesthetic – now widely referred to in certain circles as “City Farmhouse style” – and have gained much acclaim since its 2011 launch, gathering accolades from Southern Living, Garden & Gun, Flea Market Style and Romantic Country.

“We really try to make each pop-up an occasion to remember. We think we have gathered some amazing personalities and exhibitors that our shoppers will really connect with and learn from,” Leggett said. “Of course, there’s always an emphasis on American and French farmhouse wares from our vendors, but honestly we never know what to expect from the vendors – they always surprise us, and that’s our favorite part.”

Those who want to have a first-look at the goods can buy a $25 early-buying ticket for Friday, Dec. 3, which also grants weekend access. General admission tickets are $12 per person. General admission ticket holders will gain entrance at noon, and the shopping will continue through Saturday, Dec. 4, where the festivities begin again at 11 a.m. until a 3 p.m. closing time.

Tickets may be purchased at the door, or online at www.cityfarmhousefranklin.com/popupfairs.
