CHS Varsity Cheer Squad Wins TSSAA Title

The Centennial High School Varsity Competition Cheerleading won the TSSAA State Championships in the Large Varsity Division this past weekend, along with a bid to participate in the UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition in Florida in February.

CHS Cheer Squad“I’ve been coaching for 19 years but this is my first at Centennial and I can’t think of a better and more deserving team to win this honor,” said CHS Cheerleading Coach Chasity Carter. “The girls worked hard all summer skill-building and coming together as a team. We’re a fairly young and new team, so there has been a lot of work and certainly a lot of extra time in the gym for the girls. Winning state was a wonderful experience and I can’t think of a better way for the girls to start their competitive season then to win state and start preparing for Nationals.”

The competitive cheer season runs the end of April to February at Nationals.

Team members include Caroline Manning, Ashton Smith, Hannah Brennan, Abby Wheeler, Anne Tenkhoff, Brooklynn Biles, Ally Beard, Savannah Taylor, Lily Shelton, Gracie McCloud, Faith Parks, Mackenzie Simpson, Caroline Jones, Cassady Parrish, Kali Hicks, Shelby Mathews, Maddie Lawrence, Kali McCloud, Emma Kate Best, Lauren Robison and Lauren Wilkinson.

CHS Cheer Squad 2Additionally, senior Kali Hicks was selected for the All State Cheer Team.  

CHS JV Competition Cheerleading placed third in their division at the TSSAA State Championships and also received a bid to participate in the UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition in Florida.
