Chargers Get 30th Win of the Season

It was about as easy as any of the other wins Columbia State has recorded over the last month or so. The Chargers have been rolling through the competition as of late and continued that trend to start the three game series at Motlow State, with a 14-7 win on Friday.

This game started off a little tight. It was a 2-2 deadlock after four innings but that’s when the Chargers’ bats took over once again. Four runners crossed the plate for CSCC in the inning.

The biggest inning for Columbia State would come in the top half of the seventh when they would plate five runs and to put the nail in the proverbial coffin.

Sam Few had a good day at the plate going 3 for 5 with five runs batted in and a round-tripper to boot. Paul Kirby also left the yard for the Chargers.

Scooter Hightower got the win, as he went six innings and allowed just three runs, while striking out four.

The two teams will meet up for a pair of seven inning games tomorrow starting at noon.
