CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. (NYSE: CBL) held a ribbon cutting for the opening of the redevelopment at CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin, TN. Designed to significantly enhance the offerings at the shopping center, the redevelopment of the former Sears location included adding a new mall entrance as well as retail space for a mix of fashion stores, and fine dining options. Retailers now open as part of the redevelopment includes H&M, A’Gaci, and exclusive to the market, American Girl. These new stores join Belk Men’s & Kid’s store which opened in March, and The Cheesecake Factory, which opened in November 2014. Additional stores plan to open in late fall of 2015 includes fine dining restaurant, Connors Steak & Seafood and Kona Grill (opening spring 2016) and Kings Bowl, a boutique bowling & dining venue, both exclusive to the Nashville market. Additionally, Ulta and Belk’s Women’s and Home Store will open in the fall.
In late summer, CoolSprings Galleria will also welcome Zumiez, Tilley’s and Windsor Fashions as they open new stores on the interior of the mall. Sephora recently opened in May.
Grand Opening celebrations started on Wednesday, May 27th for H&M in a party like fashion complete with a DJ, music, and refreshments. Customers lined up at 9 am waiting for the noon ribbon cutting.
We spoke to a student that recently graduated from college who hoped to score the $300 gift card that was to be given to a lucky customer. The CoolsSprings Galleria H&M store is approximately 24,000 square feet with grand opening specials like $5 polo shirts for men and $5 tank tops for women.
Celebrations continue throughout the week and weekend, with the A’Gaci grand celebration on Friday, May 29th, at 9:30 am and American Girl grand opening on Saturday, May 30th. The mall will host family-friendly events all day Saturday, May 30th and Sunday, May 31st including face painting, kid’s DJ, balloon sculpting, doll check-ups, pictures with your American Girl doll, craft tables, meet & greet with the Ice Queen and Princess, community stage and MORE!
