Brentwood High School will host its 2013 Homecoming against Hendersonville on Friday.  The Bruins are 0-3 overall and 0-1 in district so far this year.  Hoping to gain a “W” for the record books, Brentwood’s opponent Hendersonville has not lost a game this year.

Losing to local Williamson County Centennial last Friday (20-31), the Bruins have their work cut out for them in the upcoming Friday night face-off.  Last Friday was the first time that the Cougars had ever been able to defeat Brentwood in the school’s history.

Quarterback Aaron Maher had sailed an 18-yard touchdown pass to senior Austin Wells to put points on the board.  Also, Brentwood’s Hunter Anderson picked off Centennials quarterback, and Wells ran it into the end zone for another touchdown.  Although just down by one at this point, the Bruins were unable to keep a leading score for the game.

Senior Maher was 11-for-20 with one touchdown and two interceptions.  Running the ball more efficiently, the Bruins will have a fair chance at defeating the 3-0 Commandos.

Hendersonville took on Lebanon last week to win its third game of the season (24-6).  The Commandos will travel over to the brand new turf field on Friday.

The Bruins have a brand new head coach Mike Woodward this year to kick-off the 2013 Homecoming.

It looks like the Bruins have started off the celebration right with Spirit Week.   On Wednesday, the students are told to where red, white, and blue in remembrance of September 11.

Beyond the floats and decked out “to the nine’s” Homecoming attendants, the seniors will be celebrating their last memories on the field at Brentwood High School.
