The Bruins battled hard as they took on Blackman to kick-off the first home game of the season last night.  Brentwood lost 28-38 after tremendous efforts throughout the night to keep the ball in Bruin hands.

Blackman’s Jauan Jennings intercepted the ball within the first few minutes of the game.  The play resulted in a controversial first touchdown for the Blaze, brining the score 0-7.

The Bruins dominated the first half on the field.  With a fantastic intercepted catch, Brentwood was now set up to move its way down the field and send quarterback Aaron Maher right into the end zone to bring the Bruins up 7-7.

Closing in on the half, the Bruins ran in a touchdown, and Blackman had a 35-yard field goal bringing the scoreboard 10-14.

The game was featured on My TV 30’s Thursday Night Lights and fans were geared up at half-time.  The Brentwood Band made some big plays on the field, as well.

Performing an excerpt in light of the musical Les Miserable’s, the talented group rocked the performance.

Going into the second half, the Bruins fought hard to keep control of the ball.  Blackman ran in for a touchdown, putting up points on the board (17-14).

The Blaze ignited the field scoring two more times before the Bruins could ever get another touchdown for the night (31-14).  After a quick huddle, Brentwood was able to get back in the game with a touchdown bringing the score 21-31 with 4:15 left in the fourth.

Blackman fought back almost immediately securing its overall 38 points on the board with a touchdown.  Brentwood responded, bringing the ending score 28-38.
