Brentwood Releases Preliminary 2020 Survey Results

Brentwood

The city of Brentwood released results from its recent 2020 Update survey.

The city is preparing a summary of its findings, but released the information and results to allow citizens to start reviewing the results. Some 31 percent of surveys were returned.

At first glance, some things stick out about the responses.

When asked to give support for “actions to achieve Brentwood’s preferred future” 68 percent strongly agreed with “improve traffic flow on major streets,” the highest percentage of the strongest agreement out of all options. 53 percent, the next highest, strongly agreed with “preserve open spaces;” 50 percent “address rate of growth development;” 48 percent “address type of growth.”

The least popular option for the future, and the only option a majority of respondents disagreed with, was “develop more variety of housing options.”

More than 75 percent of the respondents were 45 or older.  More than 50 percent of households responding made more than $150,000 a year. More than half of respondents lived in Brentwood for at least 15 years; 17 percent lived there less than five.

58 percent of respondents were “very satisfied” with the quality of life in Brentwood; 40 percent were satisfied; 2 percent dissatisfied and less than 1 percent very dissatisfied.

A more extensive breakdown of the survey results will be coming later in the week.
