Extreme Escape Games Game of the Week

By SAM McGAW

The Battle of the Woods may have jumped to a quick start at Brentwood High Friday, but it’ll take some time to finish.

After Brentwood kicker Tucker Day hit a 27-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to tie Ravenwood at 10, officials decided to delay the game due to lightning in the area.

After waiting nearly an hour and a half for storms to clear out, it was announced the game will be postponed until 7 p.m. Saturday.

Ravenwood (1-0) will receive the opening kickoff of the second half.

The Raptors pounced on the Bruins (0-1) early Friday.

Brentwood running back Collin Rudolph fumbled on the first play of the game to give the Raptors the ball at the BHS 22.

Ravenwood quarterback McCain Marrow connected with wide receiver John Rall a few plays later for a 14-yard touchdown and 7-0 lead.

Rudolph made up for his error in the ensuing drive, as he pounded his way for a 5-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7 with 7:40 remaining in the first quarter.

Ravenwood pulled ahead 10-7 following a 28-yard field goal by Jim Roebuck with 7:52 left in the second frame.
