Brentwood (4-3, 3-1) scored on its first five possessions on Friday and mixed in a defensive touchdown in a 48-0 rout of West Creek (0-7, 0-4) at home.

The Bruins led 41-0 at halftime behind 163 yards passing and four touchdowns from quarterbacks Carson Shacklett and Kaden Dreier. Will Leone had three receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in the first half, Grant Yocum recorded 36 yards and a touchdown and Christian LaBreche added 28 yards and a touchdown. All three receivers rested much of the second half.
“We played well early and got a bunch of kids in,” Brentwood coach Ron Crawford said. “That was great to see. Kaden Dreier played three positions so it was fun to do some experimenting and work some kids in.
“We executed, I guess, I haven’t seen the film but we’ll take it.”
Brentwood scored within the game’s first 2 ½ minutes on a 25-yard touchdown reception by LaBreche. After forcing a three-and-out on defense, the Bruins scored again through the air, this time on a 45-yard pass to Leone.
LaBreche found the end zone for a second time when West Creek quarterback Jake McKinley fumbled the ball and he picked it up and ran 15 yards for a touchdown.
After forcing a turnover on downs, Brentwood scored again with 2:31 left in the first quarter on a 15-yard quarterback keeper by Shacklett to go up 27-0.
Brentwood forced a turnover on downs for the second consecutive possession to start the second quarter and three plays later scored again. After two short runs and facing third-and-three from West Creek’s 32-yard line, Yocum caught a spass over the middle and broke multiple tackles as he rumbled into the end zone to go ahead 34-0.
Brentwood’s Will Stanworth jumped and intercepted a pass at his own 40, nearly returning it for a touchdown before being tripped up at the 12. Yocum scored on a 4-yard reception three plays later for a 41-0 lead with 7:52 left in the first half.
Brentwood punted for the first time 3:14 before the break and on its sixth offensive possession.
Crawford was pleased with the team’s passing game but added he wanted to see more success on the ground.
“They always play well and continue to make plays for our football team,” he said.
Brentwood outgained West Creek 228 yards to 89 in the first half and Will Stanworth led the defense with eight tackles at the break.
Crawford said the Bruins wanted to score early and often to get a running clock in the second half.
“We did what we came here to do,” he said.
The Bruins mixed in their second unit and younger players during the second half and scored its lone touchdown when Dreier, who lined up as a fullback on four consecutive plays, plowed into the end zone on fourth-and-1 from the 5.
Brentwood plays next at Centennial on Oct. 14.
