Are you ready for some football? Sign up now for the Brentwood Blaze’s annual Spring Football & Cheerleading Camp. The Blaze will offer separate camps for Flag Football for ages four and five; Tackle Football for ages five through 12, and Cheer for ages four and up. Register NOW for the Blaze’s Spring Football & Cheer Camp here for only $45.
Concepts to be covered include speed, strength, and agility exercises, plus essential football skill and ageappropriate technique refinement. In addition, the Blaze will host Varsity football players from the three area high school teams– current state champs, the Ravenwood Raptors; Brentwood Bruins and Centennial Cougars — to assist with the drills and interact with the boys about their football experiences. Many of these boys began playing for the Brentwood Blaze.
Varsity cheerleaders from the same high schools will also help run the Cheer Camp, and lead the traditional Blaze breakdown cheer at the end of each evening.
Kids who are eight years of age and younger are highly encouraged to begin playing football now in order to establish a solid foundation when important fundamentals of the game can be learned, and then further developed in years to come. The Blaze also emphasizes safety, teamwork and good sportsmanship as part of its program.
“We spend a lot of time teaching about the proper fundamentals and making sure the boys are having fun,” says Rick Erickson, Brentwood Blaze athletic director.
