Booster Club of the Week: Fairview High School

This week we spoke to the booster club at Fairview High School.

Fairview Athletic Booster Club officers sat down with us to tell us more about the season’s Friday night rituals and what other events the club has planned for the rest of the year.

Each booster club has their own Friday night ritual, can you tell us more about yours?

Our booster club hosts one big BBQ tailgate for the first home game of the season. Additional tailgates are hosted by the different FHS athletic teams. Our booster volunteers also coordinate, with the tremendous help of our JRTOC students, the VIP Parking lot for all home football games. Because of the undergoing construction of our new performing arts center, we found ourselves with a new parking dilemma. We opted to turn our dilemma into a fundraiser and offered VIP parking for all home games in the main parking lot. We were very pleased with the outcome of this fundraiser and will look at it as a permanent fundraiser for the coming years.

How many members do you have in your booster club and how many members does it take to make each Friday night successful?

We have four board members and a host of volunteers that are more than willing to help in any way they can.

For this school year, what types of fundraisers do you have planned?

This year we have planned our annual BBQ Tailgate, VIP Parking, annual golf scramble, and annual 5K run.

What is your first goal you look to accomplish this year?

As with any year, our main goal is to support our FHS athletic teams in any way possible.

Give us three words to describe your Booster Club?

Dedicated. Cohesive. Supportive.
