Bluegrass Festival Takes Place This Weekend in Franklin

Downtown Franklin will be filled with bluegrass music this weekend when the annual Bluegrass Along the Harpeth event takes place, showcasing some of the best bluegrass musicians around.  The two-day festival features live music as well as competitions in mandolin, guitar, banjo and more.

Bluegrass Along the Harpeth begins Friday, July 22nd at 7 p.m. with a special performance by The Baker Family, Uncle Shuffalo & The Haint Hollow Hootenanny, Breaking Glass & Little Texas Square Dancers.

Then, on Saturday, July 23 the competition begins at 10 a.m. with a variety of performances scheduled. The event goes throughout the day with prizes of up to $75 for single performers and $750 for bands. There are dance competitions as well as instrumental competitions.

The event is free to attend with food vendors available on site. Proceeds benefit the Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission.
