A group of Brentwood High School students are using their money-making skills to help a good cause.

It’s all part of Lisa Nease-Montgomery’s entrepreneurship class where students have created their own business called Good Nashville. The company’s mission is to support the homeless by donating 100 percent of its net profits from the sales of high quality apparel.

On April 12, the students took their idea to the Junior Achievement Company Program Competition at Lipscomb University and won first place. The company was scored on business plan, commercial, trade fair booth and presentation. They will now enter their business plan and commercial in the hopes of participating in the National JA Company Program Leadership Summit this summer in Washington D.C.

“So far, the students have almost $1,800 to donate to the Nashville Rescue Mission, and they currently have over $900 left in inventory,” said Nease-Montgomery. “The students have also reduced the prices of the shirts to $20 for short sleeve and $25 for long sleeve.”

Company team members include Luke Moreshi, Cody Mashburn, Emily Arnholt, Kyle Weiner, Kianoosh Pazooki, Grace Long, Grace Farrell, Patrick Queener, Emma Blank, Clay Cox, Alicia Hernandez, Hannah Duncan, Ben Blaschke and Hank Hayes.
