Going out on the water and fishing is one of the most relaxing things you can do in the summer.

After polling some local kayakers, we came up with a list of some of best spots to check out for fishing.

Marrowbone Lake
Marrowbone Lake, about 45 minutes north from downtown Franklin, is a great spot.
It is a well-kept secret, but the trout-stocked lake is just waiting for you. It isn’t large, but its 60 acres are well-planned for fishing.
Bledsoe Creek State Park
Bledsoe Creek State Park is a 169-acre state park, and a good spot to fish.  It offers two boat ramps and 18 camp sites.

Woodlawn Lake

Woodlawn Lake at Montgomery Bell Park has plenty of bass. There is a creek bed that runs from the dam to the docks on the west fork. The creek runs about 14 feet deep. The gate is unlocked by 7 a.m.

Local anglers recommend worms rather than lures.
