Senior running back Jake Beathard likes when his Fairview Yellowjackets (2-0) get to face the Creek Wood Red Hawks (1-1).

After gaining 109 total yards and scoring two touchdowns against the Red Hawks in 2015, Beathard torched them even more Saturday with 168 yards and two scores on 18 rushes.

The extra night of rest after the game was postponed Friday night due to lightning seemed to help more than just Beathard in the Yellowjackets’ rushing attack.

Led by Beathard and Hunter Caldwell (86 yards and a TD on 8 carries), Fairview ran for 315 yards on 40 attempts as a team.

Fairview’s defense also looked rested after the postponement. Creek Wood only gained 233 yards of total offense (151 passing) and quarterback Devon Higgins was picked off twice by the Yellowjackets.

The win improves Fairview to 2-0 on the young season with a matchup at Stewart County (1-1) coming up on Friday.
