CPA Wins District 12-AA Title Plus Other Basketball Playoff News

Girls and boys high school basketball district playoffs tipped off this weekend, and the champions will be decided in the next few days.

Except for District 12-AA, which the CPA boys won this weekend.

CPA, led by Braxton Blackwell and Braxton Bonds combined 46 points, blew out Cascade 81-48 on Saturday.

Page beat Giles Co. 58-52 in the Boy’s 12-AA consolation game; Christian Denton led the Patriots with 22 points.

Coming up in the next few days will be District Championship games.

In District 11-AAA (all games played at Independence):

In boys, Franklin will play BHS on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for the District 11-AAA championship.

Ravenwood will play Dickson Co. in the consolation game on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

In girls, BHS will play Dickson Co. for the District title at 6:00 p.m. at the same place on Tuesday.

Franklin will play Ravenwood Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the consolation game.

On Saturday the BHS boys beat Dickson Co. 48-35 and the BHS girls beat Ravenwood 55-44.

Franklin girls beat Dickson Co. 54-53 on Saturday; and the Franklin boys beat Ravenwood 58-54.

In District II-AA (at Wayne County);

On Friday, the BA girls go against Baylor; Father Ryan against Briarcrest.

On Saturday, the BA boys play Ensworth. BA beat Father Ryan 55-50 on Saturday, led by Jordan James 14 points.

The Mr. Basketball Finalists were announced this week–Rob Marberry of FRA, Slate Ryder of Father Ryan and Braxton Blackwell of CPA are all on the list.
