Baseball Roundup: Spring Hill Runs its Record to 14-0

High School baseball

Though storms in the Midstate washed out the bulk of the spring sports action on Monday, one area school managed to get in not just one game, but a doubleheader.

Spring Hill made the most of that twinbill, as well, posting a pair of shutouts against Cascade. The Raiders won the first game, 7-0, and then exploded for 21 runs in the second game while also recording another shutout.

That occurrence is not unusual for Spring Hill, however, as the Raiders improved to 14-0 with the two victories.

Spring Hill’s pitching and defense have been outstanding this season, as the Raiders have six shutout among their 14 wins. Spring Hill has allowed just 29 runs this season, an average of just over two runs per game. Spring Hill’s offense has been potent as well, scoring 135 runs in that span, an average of more than nine runs per contest.
