Baseball Roundup: Independence Ousts Brentwood

Independence stayed alive in the District 11-AAA baseball tournament and knocked out Brentwood in the process with a 1-0 victory on Monday.

Brentwood finished the season 24-9, while Independence improved to 26-8 this season.

The Eagles are scheduled to face Centennial today in the losers bracket semifinals after the Cougars routed Dickson County, 11-1, on Monday.

Summit and Ravenwood, who are in the winners bracket, are also scheduled to face off today.

In other action involving teams from Williamson County, Christ Presbyterian Academy shook off their first-round upset loss to Page in District 12-AA by throttling Marshall County 8-1 to advance in the losers bracket. Fairview was eliminated by Hickman County with a 10-0 loss.

In District 11-A, Grace Christian was eliminated by Cornersville, which took a 7-5 victory on Monday.
