Baseball Roundup: CPA Hands Spring Hill First Loss

CPA handed Spring Hill its first loss of the season Wednesday, as the Lions bested the Raiders, 7-3, District 12-AA action.
CPA, which improved improved to 20-6 on the season, pushed across six of its seven runs in a big fourth-inning rally in ending the Raiders’ overall 46-game winning streak that dates back to last year’s state championship run.
Phillip Clarke’s two-run double capped the Lions’ scoring in that fourth-inning rally.
Spring Hill, now 28-1 overall, got RBIs from Matt Wilson, Nathan Massey and Andy Hale in the loss.
In other action Wednesday involving Williamson County teams, BGA routed Zion Christian, 11-0, to improve to 11-13, while Brentwood Academy improved to 16-8 with a 10-1 win over Ensworth.
Centennial fell short against Stewarts Creek, 5-4, while Brentwood topped Dickson County, 5-3, improving its record to 21-7.
Grace Christian avenged Tuesday’s loss to Culleoka with a 7-2 win on Wednesday.
Independence picked up its 22nd win of the year, besting Franklin, 9-1. Ravenwood edged Summit, 4-2 as the Raptors improved to 13-14 this year.
Nolensville lost 12-0 against Giles County and Fairview fell 8-2 against Creek Wood.
