Community Leaders Face Off in Burger Battle, Who Won?

Back Yard Burgers joined forces with No Kid Hungry to celebrate National Burger Month. The brand and its 57 locations across the country have committed to raise $50,000 for No Kid Hungry during the months of April and May as part of its year-long goal of raising $100,000.

“National Burger Month is an exciting month for Back Yard Burgers and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with No Kid Hungry,” David McDougall, CEO of Back Yard Burgers, said. “No Kid Hungry’s mission is one that is important to Back Yard Burgers. No child should ever have to worry about when their next meal will be or where it will come from. We are committed to giving back to our local communities and supporting organizations like No Kid Hungry. ”

Monday evening, Backyard Burgers in Franklin hosted a burger grilling contest, in which the winner was crowned the “Flame-Grilled Master Chef.”

Among those making burgers for the contest was Franklin Mayor Ken Moore, Matt Kriesky, Centennial High School Football Coach and Williamson County Schools Director of Communications Carol Birdsong.

The judges were Tennessee Titans, Nate Palmer and Justin Staples, along with Jordan Poole of  Nashville Food Connoisseur Blog.

The winner of the “Flame-Grilled Master Chef” contest went to WCS Communications Director Carol Birdsong for her “Be Nice” burger. Learn more about the No Kid Hungry charity on their website.
