Auditions will be held at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, on Monday, September 8, 2014, beginning promptly at 4:30 p.m. and continuing until 6:30 p.m.  There are acting roles for students of all ages, (grades 1-12), and approximately 50 to 60 local children will be cast.

Children wishing to audition should arrive before the scheduled starting time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour schedule. No advance preparation or resumes are needed, but there is a $25 activity fee for each actor cast in the production, with payment due the first day of rehearsal.

The Missoula experience is a venue for children to discover their stage presence and acting ability, and offers entry level roles for youth ages 5 to 18.  Professional theatre staffers from Missoula Children’s Theater conduct auditions, rehearsals and performances all in one week.

The production of “Rapunzel” will be presented to audiences on Saturday, September 13 with a 2:00 p.m. matinee and 7:00 p.m. evening performance at the Freedom Middle School Theatre. Both shows are open to the public.

Tickets will be sold at the Franklin Recreation Complex beginning on Monday, September 8 for $6 each, with children age 3 and younger admitted free.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door prior to performances, if available.

Missoula’s take on the classic Rapunzel story is a fun tale of personal triumph and friendship. The production is a joyful romp through the French countryside as friends try to help Rapunzel escape the grasp of Madame Gothel. Along the way, there are ogres, wood elves, a lost prince, some trickster gremlins and three gruff billy goats.
