A. Marshall Family Foods presents check to CASA of Williamson County

A. Marshall Family Foods presented a check for $3,900 to the Williamson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) on Tuesday, Nov. 8. During the month of September, Puckett’s Grocery in downtown Franklin and Puckett’s Boat House sold a combined total of 195 raffle tickets for the organization’s 2016 playhouse.

Along with managers from both restaurants, A. Marshall Family Foods CEO Andy Marshall and his wife Jan presented a check to Marianne Schroer, Executive Director of Williamson County CASA and its Director of Development, Ondrea Johnson.

“The Marshall family and A. Marshall Family Foods have been invaluable supporters of CASA,” Johnson said. “We are so fortunate to live in a community where businesses partner with and support the work of nonprofits, and the relationship we enjoy with A. Marshall goes above and beyond. For the past two years, the generosity we have received from the organization has helped ensure that children in Williamson County do not have to face juvenile court alone. We are thankful that A. Marshall Family Food believes in the mission of CASA and helps make sure the work we do can continue.”

CASA is a national non-profit organization that provides volunteers to advocate in court on behalf — and alongside of — children who have been in situations of neglect or abuse.

In an effort to raise funds each year, the local Williamson County CASA branch sells raffle tickets for a playhouse donated by local partners. This year’s playhouse was designed and built by Franklin Firefighters Charities and was raffled off during Pumpkinfest in Franklin on Oct. 29.
Diners could purchase tickets, typically $20, for just $10 at both restaurants to be entered to win the playhouse. A. Marshall Family Foods covered the other $10 for each ticket purchased.
