5 Things We Learned from the Cast of ‘Nashville’

Nashville Skyville

Emmy-nominated online music series Skyville Live held their star-studded lineup for the July 13 edition of their conceptually groundbreaking online music series. Broadcast live from Nashville, it’s no surprise that Skyville Live wanted to build a show around the allure of Music City. On deck for this special night were Music City mainstays alongside fresh faces in town, including Charles Esten, Chris Carmack, Clare Bowen, Lennon & Maisy Stella, Mark Collie, JD Souther and Pam Tillis.

Just before the show started, we spoke with Charles Esten, Chris Carmack, Clare Bowen, Mark Collie and Pam Tillis. As with any red carpet, sometimes you learn things that you never knew or didn’t remember.

1.Mark Collie who played Frankie on the hit show ‘Nashville’ told us in real life that women will see him in public and are very upset with him after the last season of ‘Nashville.’ If you recall, Deacon (Charles Esten) and Frankie (Mark Collie) were not getting along so well. There was actually a bar fight in one of the last episodes of ‘Nashville.’ Not to worry, in real life, the two are great friends and have been writing songs together.

2.Pam Tillis told us that there are three Bluebirds. Yes, you read that right.  And not only has Tillis been to all three but she performed at all three. Of course, there is the original Bluebird on Hillsboro Road, as well as the ‘Nashville’ set for the Bluebird, and another Bluebird set in Los Angeles.

3.Chris Carmack likes playing the blues. Although a departure from country music, he had the crowd on the edge of their seat when he played “Sweet Little Angel.”

4.Clare Bowen always performs with no shoes. So, we asked the question why no shoes? After we talked about high heels and cute shoes the bottom line was -it’s more comfortable and much easier to dance on stage. Bowen also told us that filming for next season of ‘Nashville’ is set to begin in the next couple of weeks.

5. All smiles Charles Esten could not be happier that CMT picked up the show ‘Nashville’ and the question we know you wanted us to ask- what’s next for Deacon? To which he said that he has no idea.  However, Esten has been working on new music and will be releasing a new song every Friday, there’s even a hashtag #EverySingleFriday.

We didn’t get the opportunity to speak with Lennon & Maisy but here is a clip from their performance where they sang “Boom, Clap.”
