5 Local Musicians Performing at This Year’s Pilgrimage Festival

This year’s Pilgrimage Festival promises to be a major event with Justin Timberlake headlining the event Saturday night.

In addition to Eddie Vedder, The Avett Brothers, Walk the Moon and more, five locals will take to the stage.

1.Colony House- band members include Will and Caleb Chapman (sons of Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman), along with Scott Mills and Parke Cottrell. They just released their second album “Only the Lonely.” They also recently performed on the Today Show. Watch them perform “You Know It” below.

2.Kevin Griffin (Better Than Ezra)– As one of the founding members of the Pilgrimage Festival, Kevin Griffin performed last year with his band Better Than Ezra. During their performance, crowds flocked to the stage. Other band members include Tom Drummond (bass) and Michael Jerome (drums). Listen to “Desperately Waiting” from the Friction Baby album released in 1996.

3. Ruby Amanfu- Ruby has become well-known in the Nashville area. She is signed to Jack White’s label-Third Man Records. She performed alongside Lee Ann Womack at the opening of Draper James, Reese Witherspoon’s lifestyle store in Nashville, made an appearance on the show ‘Nashville’ and was also a backup singer on Beyonce’s latest album Lemonade. 4.Jerry Douglas-Known as a Dobro master, what makes Douglas special is his unique way of transforming the instrument. His identifiable sound can be heard on more than 1500 albums including Alison Kraus, Garth Brooks, Paul Simon, James Taylor and Ray Charles, just to name a few.

5.Nikki Lane- This Americana artist is returning to Pilgrimage, she performed at the inaugural festival in 2015. Nikki has since released her third album Highway Queen, which was co-produced by Lane and Jonathan Tyler. Nikki will be performing in Nashville on Sunday night at 3rd and Lindsley.
