Want to get away? Grab your tent and sleeping bag and bring the kids for a nice relaxing weekend in the wilderness. Here are five great places to camp for all kinds of campers, all within an hour or two drive of Williamson County.

2. Montgomery Bell State Park

Montgomery Bell State Park, located just outside of Dickson, is perfect for families or groups looking to camp closer to their cars. The park offers pet-friendly camping in the campground and a few sites along the river. The campground includes sites with electricity, picnic tables, trashcans and grills. Campers at Montgomery Bell can take advantage of several fishing lakes, an abundance of hiking and biking trails, a golf course, summer boat rentals and swimming.

Rates: $13.75 — $31.25

The campground provides 20, 30 and 50 amp electric service and can accommodate 60 ft. campers on most electrical sites. Campground has on-site sewer to 40 sites and can accommodate pop-up campers to the largest RVs. There are two pull-through campsites accessible to persons with a disability. There are three bathhouses located in the campground. Two sites are accessible to persons with a disability. Picnic tables, trash cans and grills are available at campsites.

Camping rates are for up to four people per site. One to three additional people are allowed per site for $1 per person per night. Campsites are limited to seven people. Check-out time for campers is 12 p.m. (noon). Quiet time is between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
