5 Fourth of July Weekend Events Not to Miss

Andrews Cadillac Firecracker 5K & Luken Kids Fun Run

Celebrating the Fourth of July is usually all about the fireworks. But, you and your family don’t want to miss out on some of these other special events happening in and around Williamson County over the holiday weekend.

Family Night Out at Cheekwood
Thurs, July 3rd

On Thursday night, your family can enjoy the ‘Magic of America Show,’ a family friendly Magic Show. The performance begins at 6:30p and lasts for 45-60 minutes. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for Seniors, $8 for children (3-17), $5 for Cheekwood members and free for Cheekwood member children.

Throwback Movie Thursday at the Nashville Zoo
Thurs, July 3rd

Settle in for an outdoor screening of ‘Independence Day’ (PG-13) on the eve of Independence Day, at the Nashville Zoo. Event runs from 6:30p-10p, with old school games and music before the movie. Taste of the Wild catering will be available for purchase and the Bound’ry is providing a wine and beer bar (cash only).

Admission is free for members, and $6 for non-members. Parking is $5 per vehicle.

‘Oliver!’ presented by Town Centre Theatre

The actors of Town Centre Theatre are putting on one of the most beloved, musicals– ‘Oliver!’

Tickets are available for Thurs, July 3rd at 8pm; Sat, July 5th at 8pm and Sun, July 6th at 2:30p. Town Centre Theatre is located at 136 Frierson St in Brentwood.

YMCA Firecracker 5K
Fri, July 4th

Before enjoying the fireworks, get a little exercise in with the Andrews Cadillac Firecracker 5K–a family-friendly race held at the Maryland Farms YMCA

The 5K begins at 7am, and the Luken Kids Fun Run starts at 8am.

Registration is $35 through July 3rd and $40 on race day. The kids Fun Run is $5 per child. Online registration closes Wed, July 2nd at noon.

Proceeds from all YMCA Race Series events benefit the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s Annual Giving Campaign

After the race, get entry into the outdoor water park at the Y for you and your entire family, by simply presenting your race bib.

Street Corner Symphony at Franklin Theatre
Sat, July 5th

This six-member a cappella group from Nashville impressed millions on the reality singing competition ‘The Sing-Off.’ Since their television debut, they’ve worked with artists LIKE Ben Folds and Alison Krauss.

Doors open at 7pm, the show begins at 8p and tickets range from $24-$35 and can be purchased at www.franklintheatre.com
