5 Events To Attend at Williamson County Library

The Williamson County Library offers events for the whole family. Here are 5 upcoming events.

1. Sgt. York and the Great War
2pm Tues, June 2
Reenactor Justin Rexrode looks at war through the eyes of an American “Doughboy” and gives visitors a hands-on experience with the equipment and gear of WWI for the American soldier.  The program primarily features the life of the War’s most decorated hero, Sgt. Alvin C. York  and the role Tennesseans played both at home and overseas.  Mr. Rexrode will have time for “hands-on” with the gear, weapons, and uniforms of the war.  This presentation is appropriate for ages 12 and up.

2. Networking and Job Fair Tips
10-11 am Wednesday, June 3
If the old adage “It’s not what you know, but who you know,” rings true, then networking can put you a step above the rest in your job search.  Learn the importance and the how to for networking at job fairs and various events, as well as social media opportunities such as LinkedIn.  Shannon Duke of Goodwill Career Solutions will serve as facilitator.  Light refreshments will be served.

3. Teen Program: Anime Actor Eric Stuart
4-5 pm Monday, June 1, downstairs in the meeting room
The library welcomes anime voice over actor Eric Stuart!  One of his Anime Movies will be shown, followed by a Q&A complete with a behind the scenes look at life as a voice actor.

4. TED Talk Marathon
1-3 pm Saturday, June 6
The library will show TED talks about people who are thinking outside to box and working toward changing a little (or big) part of the world.  Definitely food for thought!  Some of the talks include how to save the rainforest with a cell phone, the uses of sonar, and how stress can be helpful.

5. Library Scavenger Hunt
During the month of June
Enjoy a scavenger hunt throughout the library -upstairs and downstairs.  Explore and learn about your library.  Earn a prize when you complete the hunt. Another scavenger hunt will be held in July with different clues.
