Schneider Electric US

Just a few weeks ago, the county took a step toward bringing yet another blue-chip company to the area, Schneider Electric USA.

If things continue to move forward with the process, it will be another in a long line of prestigious corporations who have decided to relocate to or expand in Williamson County.

These businesses bring with them high-paying jobs and increase the tax base- further increasing the quality of life here in one of the fastest growing counties in the state of Tennessee- and the one with the highest rate of job growth in the nation.

Matt Largen, President and CEO of Williamson, Inc, the county chamber of commerce, explained why he thinks we are so popular:

“The more companies I talk to, the more convinced I am that our school systems are the driving force behind business relocations and expansions to Williamson County. In fact, at a recent economic development conference one of the site location consultants on a panel said that his clients are even asking to tour elementary schools as part of the community evaluation process. Our schools systems are an economic asset to the entire Nashville region. Savannah, Georgia has a deep-water port, Jackson, Tennessee has Interstate 40 and Williamson County has Williamson County Schools and Franklin Special School District. Our asset is less tangible than other communities, but does not mean it is any less real.”

If Schneider becomes the next company to open offices in the county, it would bring up to 1,200 jobs in several phases, which would make it the largest company to move or expand in Williamson County in the past seven years in terms of jobs-created.

So here is a list of the top five companies who have moved here since 2009 in terms of job creation.

If Paris, France-based company has entered the first stage of the process to open an office at 6700 Tower Circle in Franklin. Schneider would open an 150,000 to 180,000 square foot office at Two Franklin Park.
