Fairview Independence Day Celebration

The City of Fairview is hosting its fifth annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3, 2015 on the lawn of City Hall. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with live music beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Musical guests include Lissa Hart and Friends, Ragan Rae, and Scott Steele & Friends. Musicians will be paid only through your applause this year so be sure to show your appreciation! Stage courtesy of Cabin Creek Log Homes and sound and lights provided by local company Extreme Lighting and Sound.

Fairview High School JROTC will present the colors while four 2015 graduates of FHS, Aubrey Daugherty, Hannah Grant, Olivia Lampley and Lakin Paarlberg, will perform the national anthem.

Many food vendors will be on hand including several new ones this year. Come hungry and bring a chair or blanket. Sit back, enjoy the musical talent and good food with friends or family before our spectacular fireworks display.

The fireworks will commence around dark (approximately 9:30 p.m.) and we are proud to have some of our own Fairview firemen who are in charge of shooting the display. This year’s display is planned to be 17 minutes long and will be electronically fired.

Remote parking is available at Scott Fetzer Electrical Group (a.k.a. France) with sidewalk accessibility to the event. Event planners ask that those who are able to park remotely to assist with traffic congestion. We respectfully ask for no pets and no coolers.

Local Jerry Cary is the emcee for the event and will no doubt keep things rolling along and entertain the crowd in between sets.

Children’s area will include inflatable fun as well as face painting. Please tip the face painters generously as they are working for tips only!

Music performance by Scott Steele planned to continue after the fireworks show

The City of Fairview also wants to remind citizens that fireworks are restricted to the following dates and times: July 3, 4 and 5 from noon to 11:00 p.m. This applies only to D.O.T. class C fireworks and not “unregulated or novelty fireworks.” Sparklers are excluded from these restrictions but we recommend safe, responsible, supervised handling of any type of explosive or ignited product.
