More Than 400 Structures Damaged by Tornado

The National Weather Service confirmed today that two tornadoes touched down in Middle Tennessee. More photos here!

As the storm ripped northeast through northern Williamson and southern Davidson Counties, funnels formed near Cool Springs and over to Concord Road and another in southeast Davidson County near Pettus Road, according to the NWS.

It rated it as an EF1, the second lowest rating on the scale from EF0- EF5. Winds reached between 86 to 110 mph.

To asses the damage, NWS crews and county and city responders have been out all day responding to calls and assessing damage.

According to the city of Franklin, more than 400 buildings were affected with minor damage to 418, moderate damage to 47 with none major or totally destroyed.

So far, the hardest hit area in terms of damage is along Mallory Lane in Cool Springs.
