Spring has sprung and the Annual Buttercup Festival is back for its 18th year. This free one-day event that attracts thousands will return April 8th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the downtown Historic District of Nolensville.
“We’re excited to present this free event to the community for the 18th year, and look forward to another great festival all can enjoy,” says the Buttercup Festival Committee.
Returning from a hiatus to this year’s festivities are the members of the 46th Tennessee Civil War Re-enactors who will set up camp. This will be open for all ages and will take place next to the First United Methodist Church. Be sure to bring your get-up and get ready to learn some old tricks of the trade.
Apart from the unique variety of Historic District Shoppes that will offer sales throughout the day, the festival will have over 100 artisan vendors lined up from Old Clovercroft Road to the Nolensville Feed Mill. Food vendors will offer festival/ fair food ranging from BBQ, burgers and hot dogs to shrimp and homemade ice cream. Nana’s Diner will also be open and serving food throughout the entire day.
Various live musical entertainment will take place behind the Homeplace Bed & Breakfast. Local musicians will perform throughout the day. Stay tuned to the Historic Nolensville Buttercup Festival Facebook page for the map and stage schedule.
The “Little Miss Buttercup” Pageant will take place at 1 p.m. behind Homeplace Bed & Breakfast. Little Miss Buttercup applications can be found on the Nolensville Buttercup Festival Facebook page or at Peacock Lane. The deadline is April 1st. Before the pageant begins, one lucky high school senior will be announced as the latest recipient of The Evelyn Bennett Buttercup Scholarship.
A kid’s area will also be a part of the festival with pony rides and a petting zoo for a small fee. ‘Sam the Balloon Man’ will also be back this year.
