5. 334 Main Street, Downtown Franklin

In April, two downtown Franklin stores closed after their leases ran out. A new owner, Fresh Hospitality, has plans for the property at 334 Main Street.

334 Main Street, previous home of HeyDay gift store and Inspirations on Main, will be home to one of Fresh Hospitality’s many brands, according to records filed with the city of Franklin.

Fresh Hospitality is the parent company for 18 restaurant brands, such as The Grilled Cheeserie, Biscuit Love, which is opening a new location in downtown Franklin, I Love Juice Bar, Martin’s BBQ, Panini Petes, Taziki’s, Big Bad Breakfast, Cochon Butcher, Tellini’s Italiano, Little Donkey, Saigon Noodle House and more. The company has recently been expanding its presence south of Nashville. Plans for an I Love Juice Bar went before the Spring Hill planning commission in April for a McLemore Avenue location and also in that month, Martin’s BBQ announced a Spring Hill location.

Fresh Hospitality has submitted renovation plans, according to the city of Franklin Communications Director Milissa Reierson, but they are only for “white boxes” and include “no names or indication of what the ultimate build-out might be.”

Other than the renovation plans, the only other action on the property was a submission to the Historic Zoning Commission in January, requesting to put in walk-in coolers and dumpsters in an enclosure behind the property. The request was approved.

However, no actual work appears to have been done in the months since the HeyDay and Inspirations on Main left. Looking in through the store-front windows, the interiors appear untouched.

We reached out to Fresh Hospitality to ask which restaurant they plan to open and when, but as of the writing of this article, did not hear back.
