1. Jack and Jameson’s

In July, the owners of Jack and Jameson’s announced that they were closing their location at 509 Hillsboro Road and moving to a bigger location.

Those doors won’t stay closed much longer. Brentwood’s Judge Bean’s BBQ is moving in, according to paperwork from the city of Franklin.

“They initially may not do any work that requires a permit,” Milissa Reierson, Communications Director for Franklin, said. “They may just do some aesthetic work and get open for business.”

A manager at the Brentwood location, 7022 Church Street, confirmed over the phone that owners Bobby Burton and Andy Johnson hoped to start serving slaw and smokey slabs and all the rest by November. Burton and Johnson have owned the Texas-style BBQ spot together since 2010.

Judge Bean’s will now be the third BBQ joint to open up at the spot, by the corner of Hillsboro Road and Del Rio Pike – Mickey Roo’s first then Jack and Jameson’s in 2016.

Judge Bean’s menu throws a little more Mex’ in with the Tex,’ with appetizers like nachos, wings and fried pickles and entrees include tacos and quesadillas.
